Join us and absorb the history and beauty of the beautiful fall foliage of New England on this wonderful vacation!  We have done several fall foliage trips in the past and they have all been great trips and great scenery that this area is so famous for! Enjoy all that New England has to offer and at a time of the year known for its’ brilliant fall foliage colors and cool, crisp fall weather. 

 

After your arrival in Boston, travel along Maine's rocky coast to Portland. Then enjoy two evenings in Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island, Maine's oldest summer resort. See picturesque Acadia National Park and enjoy a traditional Maine lobster bake. Next, travel to New Hampshire to see the scenic White Mountains, the renowned Kancamagus Highway, and Dartmouth College. Then cross the border into Vermont for a visit to a living history museum and working dairy farm. Re-enter Massachusetts for visits to the Norman Rockwell Studio and Museum and Sturbridge Village, a 19th-century living history museum. Head to Connecticut and spend the night at Foxwoods Resort before continuing to Mystic Seaport and Newport, with its elegant mansions. Complete your New England vacation with sightseeing in historic Boston.

 

It includes lots of sightseeing with a knowledgeable, professional tour director as well as leisure time on your own to explore with new friends from the group.  Learn about the history of the region as well as visit some of the historical sights, also see the modern aspects of the cities as well as the countryside, including a gondola ride up Wildcat Mountain.

Day 1, Fri. Oct 10                                           Boston   

            Welcome to “Bean Town!” This evening, mix and mingle with your traveling companions at the 6 p.m. welcome reception. Our Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming fall foliage vacation!      (WR)

 

Day 2, Sat. Oct 11                                          Boston–Portland–Bar Harbor

            After breakfast we depart from Boston and head north via New Hampshire’s short shoreline and along Maine’s rocky coast to Portland, one of New England’s most famous cities. We’ll have time to stroll down the cobblestone streets of Portland’s famous Old Port Exchange, lined with its many boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries.

The next two nights are in Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island, Maine’s oldest summer resort. This evening, choose from the many fine specialty restaurants this quaint seaside community has to offer and enjoy dinner with new friends from the group. (B)

 

Day 3, Sun. Oct 12                                         Bar Harbor –LOBSTER BAKE!

            Nowhere along the Atlantic seaboard is the rock-bound coast as picturesque as in Acadia National Park, Acadia National Park one of America’s most visited national parks. Take the scenic park road and enjoy the spectacular panorama from the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the first place in the continental United States to see the sunrise.

            Afternoon is at leisure to pursue your favorite interests and activities. Maybe join an optional whale-watching expedition or stroll around the charming Bar Harbor waterfront with its many shops, galleries, and boutiques. Tonight we enjoy a typical lobster bake dinner featuring Maine lobster, steamed mussels, and delicious corn on the cob!  (B,D)

 

Day 4, Mon. Oct 13                                        Bar Harbor–North Conway-Gondola Ride!

            After breakfast, back to the mainland and west through Maine for vistas of sparkling lakes and forests that this area is famous for. Then on to New Hampshire and the scenic White Mountains,

White Mountains New England’s greatest range and premier outdoor playgrounds.

            At Pinkham Notch, board the Wildcat Mountain gondola for a thrilling ride to the 4,397-foot summit. Savor the 360-degree panorama of Mount Washington

Mount Washington Valley and the famous Presidential Range, whose peaks are named after many U.S. presidents. Also enjoy a presentation on the Raven Interpretive Program and local wildlife. (B)

 

Day 5, Tues. Oct 14            North Conway–Franconia Notch–Killington   

           This morning we depart for a beautiful drive along the renowned Kancamagus Highway. Hugging the Connecticut River, head south to Hanover where you will see the Dartmouth College campus, one of the nation’s eight prestigious Ivy League institutions. Cross the river into Vermont

Vermont and look forward to two more sightseeing stops on the way to Killington. First, visit Woodstock

Woodstock, its village green reminiscent of 19th-century England. Then on to nearby Billings Farm and Museum, a living museum of Vermont’s rural past as well as a working dairy farm.

Tonight is at leisure for dinner and then relax this evening or find some local nightlife!(B)

 

Day 6, Wed. Oct 15                                       Killington–Stockbridge–Sturbridge     

            This morning, we’ll visit the New England Maple Museum to learn about the history of sugaring over the past 200 years and to sample various grades of maple syrup. Then we journey south to Stockbridge in the Berkshire Mountains for a visit to the Norman Rockwell Studio and Museum, which houses a large collection of works by one of America’s favorite artists. Continue on to Sturbridge, one of New England’s most charming towns.

Day 7, Thurs. Oct 16                                     Sturbridge–Newport

             This morning we’ll visit Sturbridge Village to explore early New England in the company of farmers, craftsmen, and fascinating characters at this 19th-century living history museum.

            Then we head south to explore Mystic Seaport, a living museum showcasing the many activities that might have been found in a New England coastal village in the 1800s. Next, travel to Rhode Island, the “Ocean State.” (B)

               

Day 8, Fri. Oct 17                                          Newport

             Today, enjoy a Newport orientation tour and see the first state house, the nation’s oldest synagogue, and the city’s oldest meeting house and library. Afterward, explore the extravagant lifestyle of a bygone era when visiting The Breakers, shipping magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt’s turn-of-the-century mansion.

            Your afternoon is free for exploring on your own. This evening, we will enjoy a special Farewell Celebration Dinner at a local restaurant. Maybe a toast to our great traveling companions and new friends!(B,D)

 

Day 9, Sat. Oct 18                                          Newport–Boston

            Depart this morning for Boston. Our tour of the city’s landmarks with a local guide focuses on the city’s most prominent landmarks, including the historic sites near Boston Common; Old State House; Old North Church, where Paul Revere got the signal to start his famous ride; Freedom Trail; and Faneuil Hall, with an opportunity to browse through the very interesting Quincy Market.

            After a transfer to the airport for those who have homebound flights, the motorcoach continues to downtown to the Boston Park Plaza Hotel where the vacation ends. Please schedule flights from Boston’s Logan Airport after 3:30 p.m. (B)

Airfare is additional. You need to fly into and out of Boston.  You’ll want to arrive into Boston on October 10 in time for the 6pm welcome reception at the hotel if you can.  For departure out of Boston’s Logan Airport on October 18, make sure you schedule your flights after 3:30pm.   We can assist you with flight arrangements.

$22.00   Arrival transfer to the hotel.  The departure transfer to Boston’s Logan airport is included in the price (on tour day only)-make flights for after 3:30pm for your departure.

 $99.00  +$30   Travel/Trip Cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Get Travel Protection Plus for an additional $30.  This additional benefit allows you to cancel your vacation up to 24 hours (or the prior business day, whichever is farther out) before your scheduled departure for any reason not covered by the travel protection plans provisions. With this Protection Plus policy you will be reimbursed for the cancellation penalties with travel vouchers to be used within a year with the tour operator. You must purchase with your deposit if you want a waiver for pre-existing conditions and Travel Protection Plus.  Insurance is not refundable. Your airfare is not covered under this policy.

 This is a Special Trip Offering: This trip is in response to a lot of our singles asking us to do a few great trips open to everyone, not just singles. This trip is open to anyone and is also for the single who doesn’t necessarily need to go on an ‘all singles’ trip but wants even more varieties of trips that they can travel on with a few other singles and still get a great trip and travel experience. We also hear from singles that want to travel with family members that aren’t single, i.e. mother or father, sister or brother, sons or daughters, friends, etc., but they still can travel with other singles on the trip.  So we have accommodated those requests in a few of our trips. So anyone and everyone who enjoys meeting lots of nice, friendly people of all ages, married or single are welcome!   Hope you can join us!

         Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgement of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below and in the Singles Travel Company General Terms and Conditions.  Please make sure you read both of these important pieces of information and call us with any questions.

 
Payments:     A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is due with your reservation and your insurance is due now also if you want to purchase it.   Full and final payments are due 65 days prior to departure date.  Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express) and /or checks (payable to Travel Advisors) are accepted.

Cancellation Fees and Refunds

     All cancellations must be in writing.  Regardless of when you cancel there will be a charge from Singles Travel Company of $50.  Deposit of $200 and insurance is non-refundable. Cancellation Fees as follows:

60-22 days prior to commencement of services                      50% of total price

21-1 days prior to commencement of services                       100% of total price

On day of departure and later                                                   100% of total price

No refunds on unused portions of the tour.  A fee of $30 per transaction may be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.  Cancellation fees also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour booked with the tour operator of the trip.   After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy/ and or the tour operator if purchased through the tour operator. 

 Travel Insurance is highly recommended.
